HOW DOES IT WORK - SENSORS and SENSOR PACKAGES
SENSORS:
While data systems are becoming a necessary part of any race team, Racepak recognizes the additional time and resources required for the installation and operation of a data system. Typically, a standard data systems require the user to install the sensor via a wiring harness, then open the data system software and manually locate the sensor channel number, assign a name, assign calibration values and assign scaling values along with various other time consuming tasks.
To solve this problem, Racepak created what we refer to as Vnet Smart Sensors. Each sensor is connected to a Vnet module by a short cable. The module enables the sensor to “know” what it is and immediately be recognized by the data logger.
For example, adding an oil pressure Vnet sensor installation consists of three steps:
- Install the oil pressure sensor on the engine and connect it to the Vnet module cable
- Connect the Vnet module to the main Vnet cable that is routed to the data logger
- Connect your PC to the data logger and select Edit / Read Vnet Configuration found in the Racepak software
Installation is that easy and that simple. |
